KARIBU, East-Central Africa Division!

Ate Maya and I, with Kenneth taking the picture
It was our fifth day in Nairobi, Kenya. The sun was shining brightly, greeting us with a smile! Kenneth, Ate Maya, and I traveled to East Central Africa Division. It was more than an hour drive from Kasarani, where we live. Going there, we have to take a bus and a “matatu” [jeepney in the Philippines] but we needed to wear our earphones and listen to our own heavenly music just to get our ears rid of the loud and worldly music - first culture shock! This has been what we are doing every time we go out and ride a public transportation. No way to escape! We just pray that God would provide us a way out – a private car! Clinging to His promise in Matthew 19:26.

Arriving at the division, I was so amazed with God’s wonders! The environment was so quiet, the weather was sunny but the air was so cool and fresh, the plants display they loveliness, animals running around, and variety of birds singing and flying with their colorful and beautiful wings. Beholding God’s amazing book of
nature, I felt closer to the Creator! Oh, what a glimpse of heaven!
In the reception, we were warmly welcomed by the Secretary, Mrs. Night Abuto. Then, we met the Administrative Assistant to the President, Mrs. Elnorie Caballero. We had an overwhelming welcome from her and I was so glad to meet her because she also came from the island of Mindanao in the Philippines – what a small world! We really had a pretty nice conversation in the Cebuano dialect. After, we went to the office of the Children’s and Women’s Ministry Director and got to know Mrs. Debbie Maloba, whom we will be working with. Seeing her, I can sense a very committed and faithful woman. When she prayed for us, it was so powerful and I felt the Holy Spirit in our midst. Praise the Lord for the very warm "KARIBU" [means welcome] that I've personally experienced here, making me feel at home! We also met other workers in this Division such as Mr. Michael Caballero, Associate Treasurer; Knollyne Gai, Media Center Secretary; and Venancio Monta, Jr., Farm Manager.

We planned to stay here only for three days yet God has blessed us with a very kind, generous, and hardworking couple, Mr. and Mrs. Caballero, who accommodated us in their house. We enjoyed a very relaxing room and abundant, healthy and delicious food. It’s such a comfort zone for us! Being in this Filipino home made Africa a Philippines! Our worships together, eating together, sharing of experiences and stories together, going out together, can truly make me say “What a Fellowship, What a Joy Divine!” What’s amazing too is God impressing Ma’am Caballero in giving us some clothes. So I thought, that is why back in my country I had to give almost all of my clothes and just bring my uniforms – because God would provide -- Jehovah Jireh, indeed!
Dear God, I pray, I want to stay in this place even longer!
